So many business owners worry about the path their business is taking during these down times. They wonder "How can I make things better for my business?" but they haven't taken a look at the big picture of their business and how they are positioning themselves for more business.
Your first step to positioning yourself for success is making a plan. Sure, you think, I've got a plan. But are those plans written down? Do you revert to those plans throughout the year? Are you taking time to really think about how you are going to meet your goals? Without a plan, you are somewhat walking aimlessly through the business world, waiting for a lucky day. With a plan, you are positioning yourself for something to happen - for success to be something you aim for a daily basis.
Daily basis? Yes, you should be daily marketing yourself in one small way or another. It will be easy and I'll talk about it in my next post. We'll tackle our marketing goals for 2011 together - and you'll be aiming yourself for a brighter, more successful business year. If you've never written out your marketing goals and plans for a new year, make this the year you start.
2012 or 2011? A great tool is from Don Crowthers called the Two Page Strategic Plan. You can find it here.

Oh, yes, 2011. It's edited. Getting a little ahead of myself there.
